A personal commitment

Eric Lindenfeld takes on litigation where money, power, and reputation are on the line. His experience spans the strategy rooms and courtrooms of some of the largest plaintiff-side litigations in the country’s history. A trial lawyer and accomplished legal scholar, he pairs rigorous legal analysis with exacting preparation and forceful courtroom advocacy. Industry leaders have described him as “relentless,” “unapologetically zealous,” and a “wicked sharp trial lawyer.” That intensity defines Eric’s approach to every case.

Mass torts & public impact

Trained at Robins Kaplan by veterans of Minnesota’s landmark tobacco litigation, Eric went on to work on some of the country’s most consequential public-health cases.

He represented Minnesota at trial against JUUL and Altria in litigation over the youth-vaping crisis. The case settled for $60.5 million after three weeks of trial. Eric was among the trial lawyers recognized by Minnesota Lawyer as 2023 Attorneys of the Year.

For several years, Eric served on core litigation-strategy teams in national opioid proceedings against manufacturers, distributors, and pharmacies, helping secure settlements totaling tens of billions of dollars to address the opioid crisis. His work helped establish corporate accountability and obtain resources for communities devastated by addiction.

Eric was part of national litigation teams in the Abilify proceedings and has handled claims involving Stryker, Farxiga, and other mass-tort matters. He has also represented tribes in social-media litigation. He brings his federal-court and expert-intensive experience to catastrophic-injury cases involving serious head and spinal injuries.

Commercial litigation

Eric’s commercial practice spans financial disputes, contract and fiduciary claims, cryptocurrency, and complex business torts. He helped secure major liability victories for secured noteholders in litigation involving more than $100 million in obligations.

He has represented a digital-asset business in litigation over a Bitcoin investment-product venture, helping preserve its claims for trial. His financial-products experience includes cryptocurrency-related exchange-traded funds.

Eric has also represented medical-device officers and directors facing product-liability claims and parallel government investigations. His experience includes major antitrust class litigation and plaintiff-side cryptocurrency disputes.

Catastrophic injuries

Eric has represented plaintiffs in catastrophic personal-injury and medical-malpractice cases across the country. He has authored scholarly publications cited by attorneys general nationwide. He brings the same command of complex evidence, expert testimony, and litigation strategy developed in major mass-tort and commercial cases to claims involving life-altering injuries.
